Kit Integration

Connect Kit (formerly ConvertKit) and PodGlue turns every episode you publish into a ready-to-send newsletter draft — and lets you add podcast guests to your list on purpose.PodGlue creates drafts. It never sends email for you.

Connect your Kit account

1

In PodGlue, open Settings → Integrations.

2

Find the Kit (formerly ConvertKit) card and click Connect.

3

You’re sent to Kit to authorize access. Review what PodGlue is asking for and approve.

4

You’re returned to PodGlue. The Kit card now shows your account name and the date you connected.

The connect button is visible to workspace owners and admins. One Kit account connects per workspace.

When you publish an episode

Once Kit is connected, publishing a public episode kicks off the newsletter for you. Within a few minutes PodGlue writes a subject line, preview text, and body from that episode’s own transcript and assets, then creates a draft broadcast in your Kit account.

1

Episode goes live

You publish a public episode in PodGlue as usual.

2

Draft appears in Kit

PodGlue writes the newsletter and saves it as an unscheduled draft.

3

You review and send

Open the draft in Kit, make any edits, and send when you’re ready.

The episode page in PodGlue shows the draft status — pending, created (with a link straight to the broadcast in Kit), or failed with a retry button. You can also create or re-create a draft on demand from the episode view or the Distribution Center.

Settings you control

Manage these from the Kit card in Settings → Integrations so the automated draft matches how you run your list.

Auto-draft on publish

On by default once connected. Turn it off if you’d rather create drafts manually.

Default audience or tag

Optionally target a Kit tag or subscriber segment so every draft is pre-addressed to the right people.

Footer / sign-off

Add a standard closing line that gets appended to each generated newsletter.

Email template

Point drafts at one of your existing Kit email templates so they match your list’s look.

Send guests to your list

From the PRM, use Send to Kit on any guest with an email — or select several guests and push them at once. Guests only reach Kit when you choose; there is no automatic sync.

  • Each guest is added or updated as a subscriber in your Kit account.
  • They’re tagged podglue-guest, plus a per-episode tag (e.g. podglue-ep-42) for every appearance.
  • Re-pushing is safe — PodGlue only fills in missing tags and won’t create duplicates.
  • If Kit reports someone as unsubscribed, PodGlue leaves them alone and shows that state.

Those tags make it easy to build Kit automations around the people who’ve been on your show — a thank-you sequence, a request to share the episode, and so on.

Privacy & security

OAuth, no passwords

You connect through Kit’s official OAuth flow. PodGlue never sees or stores your Kit password, and access tokens are kept server-side only — never in your browser.

Drafts only

PodGlue can create broadcast drafts and manage subscribers/tags, but it never sends email on your behalf. You always press send in Kit.

Disconnect any time

Disconnecting from Settings → Integrations revokes PodGlue’s access in Kit immediately and halts all queued Kit work for your workspace.

You stay in control

Guests only reach your list by an explicit action, and unsubscribes are always respected.

For the full detail on how PodGlue handles your data, see our Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Does PodGlue send emails to my list?

No. PodGlue only ever creates drafts in your Kit account. Nothing is sent until you open Kit, review the draft, and send it yourself.

Will my podcast guests be added to my list automatically?

No. Guests only reach Kit when you explicitly use the "Send to Kit" action on a guest (or select several and push them in bulk). There is no silent syncing.

What tags does PodGlue apply to guests?

Each guest you push is tagged podglue-guest, plus a per-episode tag like podglue-ep-42 for every appearance they’ve made. PodGlue creates these tags in your Kit account if they don’t exist yet.

What happens if someone has unsubscribed?

PodGlue respects it. If Kit reports a subscriber as unsubscribed or cancelled, PodGlue will not re-subscribe them, and that state is shown in the guest’s record.

Do I need a paid Kit plan?

Yes. The integration uses Kit’s API on a connected account, which requires a paid Kit plan. You also need a PodGlue account.

How do I remove the connection?

Open Settings → Integrations, find the Kit card, and click Disconnect. PodGlue revokes its access in Kit and stops all queued Kit work for your workspace.

Still stuck?

If your Kit connection isn’t behaving the way you expect, our team can help you sort it out.
