I use PodGlue for two kinds of bookings.
Podcast guests book an interview. People who want to talk about working together book a discovery call.
Same calendar. Very different conversations.
What was wrong
I went through the emails PodGlue had been sending, and found the problem.
Everyone who booked a discovery call got the podcast guest emails.
"Find a quiet space with good lighting." "Test your microphone." And after the call, a thank-you saying I'd edit and produce the episode.
There was no episode. It was a conversation about their business.
Eighteen people got some version of that. Nobody complained. That's almost worse.
What shipped
Discovery calls now get their own reminders. Three of them, all before the call:
- Call confirmed, as soon as they book
- A short prep note two days before, with three things worth thinking about
- The join link on the day
No thank-you about an episode. No recording tips. Nothing about being a guest.
In Settings, Guest Video Touchpoints now has two tabs: Podcast interview and Discovery call. Each has its own wording, and nothing on either tab sends until you've read it and approved it.
A concrete example
The prep note for a discovery call asks the person to think about:
- What they're working on right now
- What's getting in the way
- What a good outcome from our call would look like
That's the conversation I actually want to have. Before, they were checking their microphone for a recording that was never going to happen.
What's next
A discovery call often ends with a next step: a proposal, a follow-up, an introduction.
PodGlue will draft those from the conversation. You'll decide what gets sent.
Every booking is a different kind of relationship. The emails should know which one it is.

PodGlue tells you whether your guest already got the 'your episode is live' email. Unless you sent it yourself, in which case it told you nobody had.
The Questions I Kept Forgetting To Send
PodGlue could email a guest their questions before the interview. It just needed me to remember. That turned out to be the whole problem.
The Guests I Never Told
PodGlue could email a guest when their episode went live. It just never did it for most of my guests, and I couldn't see which ones.
