I had an interview with a guest on the calendar for Thursday at 10. We'd moved it twice. Both times, my guest got a "your interview has been rescheduled" email. So did I. The new time was right there, in both.
The Zoom meeting itself never moved. It was still sitting on the old date.
What was going on
When you reschedule in PodGlue, a few things happen at once: the booking updates, both of you get an email with a fresh calendar invite, and PodGlue asks Zoom to move the meeting.
That last step failed. And PodGlue was built to keep going when Zoom has a bad moment, which is the right call. You don't want a Zoom hiccup to stop a reschedule you already told your guest about.
The problem was that it kept going silently. The host email still showed a tidy list of checkmarks. Nothing anywhere said "the room didn't move." I only found out because I went looking.
What changed
Now, if PodGlue can't move the Zoom meeting, your reschedule email opens with a red box: Action needed: the Zoom meeting was NOT moved. It tells you what to do: move it in Zoom, or create a new one if the old room is gone.
If the old room is gone, we also leave its dead link out of your guest's invite, so they're not clicking into nothing.
We also stopped telling you your calendar event was updated when there wasn't a calendar event to update.
One more small thing: if your guest hits reply on a reschedule or cancellation email, it now comes to you. Before, it went to an address nobody was reading.
A concrete example
Say you move a guest from Tuesday to Thursday, and Zoom is having a rough afternoon. Before: you and your guest both see "rescheduled," and on Thursday the meeting is still sitting on Tuesday. Your guest clicks the link, and there's no meeting on the calendar they expect.
Now: the email you get says, right at the top, that the Zoom meeting didn't move. You fix it in thirty seconds, and Thursday goes the way it's supposed to.
What's next
The goal is that PodGlue never tells you something went fine when it didn't. We're not all the way there yet: a couple of the other checkmarks in that email still assume success instead of confirming it, and those are next. After that, we'll look at retrying a failed Zoom move on its own, so most of the time you never see that red box at all.
If you run your guest bookings through PodGlue, this one's already live. The less you have to double-check, the more time you get to spend on the actual conversation.
