The worst bugs don't crash. They just show you something slightly wrong and let you believe it.
This week I sat down with the PodGlue iPhone app next to the web app and went screen by screen. I found a handful of those.
What was wrong
Your next scheduled post never showed up. The Home screen has a spot for it. It was always empty, even when you had posts lined up. The app was asking for the schedule in the wrong place and quietly giving up.
Signing out didn't fully sign you out. You'd sign out, and the phone would keep getting "reach out" reminders meant for your account.
Everyone was view-only. The Command queue told every person, including owners, that they couldn't change anything.
Editing a guest could undo your work. If you'd updated a guest on the web, then fixed their name on your phone, the phone could put back the old details.
Ticking off a task could lie. If you didn't have permission, the tick stayed checked anyway. It just never saved.
What changed
All of those are fixed. The next scheduled post shows. Signing out stops notifications. Owners, admins and editors can move queue items again. Guest edits only change what you changed. And if something doesn't save, the app now says so instead of pretending.
A few smaller things came along too. Deleted episodes stay deleted. Transcripts show whether they're queued, running or skipped. And if you open the app with an account that doesn't have a show yet, it points you to finish setup instead of leaving you on empty screens.
A concrete example
Say you and your producer share a show. They move a guest to "Established" on the web in the morning. That afternoon, you fix the guest's name on your phone.
Before, your phone could quietly reset the guest back to where they were when you opened the screen. Now it only sends the name.
What's next
Next on the phone: the AI clip moments from the web, so you can see the best moments from an episode on your phone. After that, the Production Board.
If you use the app, update it when the new version lands. And if something looks off, tell me. The quiet bugs are the ones I most want to hear about.
Don’t just read the build. Shape it.
